Thanks Carl. Just finished working on the car and realized that
the temp sensor sends a varying resistance to the ecu for fuel /air mixture.
Bentley manual shows the relationship of the temp/resistance (decreases with increasing temperature). The car had a warm starting problem and Im suspecting the sensor. I cleaned the contacts and that was enough to make it work when warm. The resistances invloved are so small (only 392 ohm) at 176 F that a dirty contact coud to throw it off whack by adding more resistance.
I am going to change the sensor regardless because its righ below the fuel injector line and should not cost much.
If anyone is interested I can list the engine temp/sensor resitance chart.
I used a kitchen needle type of thermometer on the engine block and measured the resistance of the sensor by a digial ohmeter.
