Yes, but take it easy. High RPM will lift the motor and the sudden loss of RPMs (during shift) cause the motor to slam down on the tran (never mind the weak linkage and what it goes thru). I'm surprised it's gone with an S- If you had a turbo, I would recommend an AF MM- yours has the rubber/hydralic combination; an AF is solid poly (or steel for rally).
Is it "gone" or just torn (allowing the hyd fluid to leak out)? Would not bother w/ quick fixes- should be fine if you baby.
Side note; Had a 1978 Olds Delta 88 w/ a 403 eng; bad MMs- jammed the gas one day and dented my hood (out that is)!
