The RX7 convertible was a very underrated car IMHO. Unfortunately, they fell victims to very similar problems that plague Saabs of the same age. If you are considering buying one, if all the accessories work (rare), be prepared to replace the engine. The rotary engine is stronger than a piston engine when it's running, but these cars got stored every winter. Sitting dormant wreaks havoc with these engines. I'd say on these cars, high mileage may actually be a good sign.
Everything on these cars is as do-able as anything on a Saab (except head gasket replacement ;) but realize that you will have to do just as much to an RX7 as you would to a Saab.
