The latest cap has two valves in it, one for vacuum, other for pressure. They're separate, not combined/integral valves. I forget what the color is, either yellow or green cap. A similar situation seems to pertain for volvo 7xx/9xx series cars too. Both had the bosch caps.
yeah, it p!$$ed me off too...I had just replaced a Saab coolant cap and 15 months later the cap failed and the dealer had a hundred of the new caps in stock...they were replacing them like popcorn.
OTOH, it IS possible for the cooling system to have too much pressure in it if the headgasket is leaking combusion gases into the system. If you're sure the coolant cap is good (only way to be sure, btw, is to TEST them and the adaptor for a STANT pressure tester is $45...ask me how I know this...NOT) then hie thyself down to a dealer or independent shop with an exhaust gas sniffer and sniff the area over the coolant level (take the cap off and put the sniffer in there to check for combustion gases). A positive HC reading ALWAYS means an exhaust gas leak into the coolant system and about the only place it can come from is a headgasket.
