I use engine oil. just dip them in a qt container. these are stretch to yield bolts and new gaskets are uni-torque. do NOT run then retorque. I prefer to take it up in multiple steps to reduce tightening stress. 25 45 65 then 1/4 turn. make sure the block surface is totally clean. a razor scraper does a good job. put a very thin coat of permatex grey hi-torque on the oil drain and chain relief on both sides of gasket or both surfaces. that is the only sealer needed.
