The so called sealed units heat up during each use. Gas/air inside gets hot, expands, wants to leave cavity. And it does. Light cools down, creates vacuum. Eventually you end up sucking back in some new air with moisture, engine compartment junk, etc. Then next heat up cycle this stuff gets baked on the inside of the lens.
To remove, who knows! I've had limited sucess. But the easiest and cheapest is vinegar and ice chips. Just like the coffee pot at work. Other than that upgrade to new e-code lenses.
