I am posting this message for a friend at work, as I cannot figure out why he is having this problem with his 90 900S. Here tis....
I have a question regarding oil in the distributor housing in my 1990 900. For the last year or so I have had this issue where the car would start off from the house and after a mile or two I would lose power slow and have to pull over. This would happen ever two months or so.
Then I would pull over, pop off the distributor cap and rotor, then wipe the inside with a dry rag, there would seem to be a little moisture or oil
film. Once wiped off and I put back the cap and rotor, it would be good
for a few more months.
Lately it has happen more often ( two times in the last week ). Happened
yesterday and when I wiped in the housing there was a little more oil then
I had found before. I also noticed some oil under the housing as well.
Still when I wiped the inside it ran OK again.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
