I've done numerous multi-thousand mile trips in Saabs without problems. If you're 6 feet or less tall, they're comfy to sleep in, too (if yours is a hatchback :-).
If it's been a while since your last tune-up, do some maintenance before you leave (plugs, wires, cap/rotor, fuel & air filters, etc.), and throw an extra set of belts in the trunk. I *always* bring my Bentley manual on long trips in case I'm ever at the mercy of a mechanic who's never worked on Saabs before. I also bring along my socket set/wrenches, etc.
If your alignment is off, it's worth it to get that taken care of, too. It'll annoy you after a while if it's always pulling to one side, not to mention wear your tires out prematurely...
If you're kind of paranoid about something going wrong, you might let folks here know your route - they can hook you up with local Saab-knowledgeable mechanics in case things go wrong.
Have fun!
