Odometer is driven by speedometer cable, so you probably have a broken odometer gear. This is supposedly caused by zeroing the odometer when the car is moving, but it's hard to believe that a car with a rallying heritage would have an odometer that can't be zeroed while moving. There may be a post on diy repair, but there are many speedo shops that can repair it.
Your near stalling problem could be a dirty throttle body or AIC valve. Spray them out with carb/intake spray a couple times a year. Also check carefully for vacuum leaks. Next thing to look at is your air mass meter (AMM) which controls (among other things) the idle mixture until the O2 sensor warms up. Best way to test is to swap in a known good one. If you are also getting flat spots and surges when accelerating, then the AMM is a likely culprit.
