You might be OK, but definitely flush the brake fluid.
Something is still bothering me. When you bleed the brakes, I would pull the calipers and make sure that the pistons are not frozen or corroded. Check the pads, is there uneven wear indicating a hanging caliper? See if the pads are metalmaster, which do feel harder at the pedal. Then check the adjustment on the rear pads. The 4mm allen bolt is under the 14mm hex cover bolt and with the ebrake cable unhooked, you should gently tighten the allen so that the rotors just lock and then back off about 1/2 turn. Check the tech docs at townsendimports.com for a step by step procedure.
Regarding the light problem, the brake lights should stay on when you press the pedal and go out only when you release completely. The switch should be set so that the brake lights go on as soon as you touch the pedal...hair trigger to protect your rear. The tail lights (not brake)should be unaffected by brake use. If your tail lights are going on when you hit the brakes, you have a bad ground. When you adjust the switch, take a look at your brake pedal pivot mount, give it a shot of wd40 and make sure everything is free.
