900 Turbo 5spd Question
Its easy to shift through all the gears as long as you're sitting still. Once out on the road it is very difficult to locate the proper gears. There is a clash and grinding into second... this only happens at higher rpm's and only from 1st to 2nd. There is no clash or grinding when downshifting into 2nd. Could this be the result of using the wrong oil? I used gear oil first because its what my local Saab dealer said to use. I just flushed it out yesterday and gave the honda MTF a try. It seemed to smooth it out a little but barley noticable. It didn't do this before my original oil change. I have re-aligned the shifter several times thinking it might be the culpret but it doesn't seem to be. Seems to me it probably is something very simple. A transmission can't just go bad all the sudden because you clean it and add fresh oil can it? I'm trying to sell the car so I can finish moving out of state (supposed to be there last week for move in) this is really holding up getting a sale even though I'm not asking much anymore. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
