allow me to lay it out for ya'll.... Posted by modest mouse [Email] (#3510) [Profile/Gallery] (more from modest mouse) on Fri, 1 Jun 2001 14:10:59 In Reply to: Power window not working, SS, Fri, 1 Jun 2001 11:59:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
- pop out the window switch box in the center console.
- remove the switch related to the particular slow-going window.
- disconnect that switch from the harness.
- bring switch to table/surface area.
- carefully open switch to reveal innerds (sp?). i repeat, *carefully*.
- grab a nail file and file the contacts down.
- replace switch. button up. try the switch.
hopefully this does the trick. you should see some response. if it doesn't do the trick:
- grab a T-15 (i think it's a T-15).
- remove interior door cover to reveal the innerds (sp?).
- get some lithium grease. spray the gears down. up and down, up and down. spray carefully.
- try window to repeatedly work the grease in.
if that doesn't work, you may need a new window motor. if i'm not mistaken (and from experience), you won't need a motor and these procedures will allow the window to be as good as new. please keep us posted.
while you're at it, if the contact cleaning works (might even try some pot cleaner along with the filing), clean them all! carefully, that is...
good luck!
