The first thing to do is change the thermostsat to a 82C. Also replace the thermal fan switch located in the right lower corner or the radiator. It has 2 wires that go to it.
Its not important what terminal they plug on too at the said thermal fan switch. What is important is if you
touch these two wires together ....your fan should come on. If not then you have a fan, fuse, relay or wiring
problem. This thermal fan switch will turn the fan on sooner than the original when setting still in traffic or at
a stop sign ...thus keeping the engine cool. The facts are ... keeping your engine temp stable under all
operating conditions, "Less fluctuation" will keep the head from expanding and contracting on the block and
thus reduce head gasket wear. Also if you have a Mercedes dealer near ....use their antifreeze ONLY. All
antifreeze is not created equal.
This should have been done long ago.
