There is a tendency for the original equipment glass on European cars to be softer than American made glass. This is done to make it less likely to crack in a big spiderweb when encountering tiny flying objects at high speeds, but it also means that it pits more easily. Many years ago Porsche autocross nuts used to insist on original equipment because it was said to be a few pounds lighter than the USA replacement. You pays your money, you takes your choice.
