if you have them off, you can inspect them yourself. wire brush them all down to remove any surface rust and dirt. and then look at all the welds and joints on the arms, there aren't too many. if you see any cracks or separations, it may be worth looking at replacement. they won't just fail on you. the reason some people have had them fail is because they didn't notice the cracks or progressive failing of the arms. metal won't just give up. it must have been the weld procedure used that was faulty and caused failing in those "bad" years. but again, you should be able to catch the beginnings if you look closely. good luck.
