Your SAAB isn't 20+ years old, is it???....... Posted by IrieTom [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: What's the deal w/ the auto locks?, Dudah, Thu, 7 Jun 2001 13:43:57 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
The older SAABs wouldn't let you lock ANY doors unless they were closed. I can remember telling people over and over that they should just get out of the car and let me lock it, because the doors don't lock unless they are closed. Inevitably, they would sit down, close the door, lock it, and try to get out. %)
The 1972 96, 1978 99, and 1980 900 all had this feature. They all had two doors and no power locks, so the locks had to be activated manually from the button inside or a key outside.
I have never locked my keys in my car, except for one time with a rental $uv that locked everything every time it moved. I can't think of anything more annoying than a car that locks all doors and the trunk everywhere automatically. If you're hauling tools and supplies around, you have to turn the ignition off and unlock the door/trunk every time you stop. I was pissed beyond belief
