The '87s were the first year with the new bumpers/lights in front. That's the only change from 1982 or so unless you got an "S" car with the 16V motor. 87Turbo would also be 16V.
The biggest issue with the brakes is that older (87 or older) brakes had smaller calipers (not as much squeeze) and the E-brake works on the FRONT wheels instead of the rears (like '88 cars and newer)
The wheel selection for pre-'88 cars is somewhat limited. If you'd like an extra set of alloys for winter tires or something, Email me. I've got way too many.
