Exhaust leak and/or turbo problem or both?? ...long

My 93 900 turbo has a broken manifold stud which is broken off in the head (bad). It is the last one near the front of the engine(back of car) and it leaks heavily on cold start up(sounds like tank). As the head and manifold warm the ticking noise goes away. Maybe takes about one minute or so.
Now here is the other problem. When starting to drive the car, I also get another noise which is more of a screeching/ticking noise that will also go away eventually. If I am light on the throttle it is not present, but as soon as the boost gauge goes into yellow it will get louder. It will go away it about 30 seconds or so. What it seems like to me is the the turbo it not getting oil right away? Or it is possible that is somehow related to exhaust leak and as sound as exhaust leak goes away so does this problem. I will do it even when I let the car warm up signficantly while at idle. Does the turbo shaft spin at non-boost levels? I am going to try to clean out oil supply and return lines and see if that helps, but I don't want my turbo to die. It is a Mitsubishi TE05 and boosts great.
Any thoughts?? Please help
Brian
