Having recently rebuild my tranny and done an auto to manual conversion I was cruising through town last night. I was shifting on a turn when I stepped on the clutch and forgot about the gas. The engine reved up to the max 7k is it? I did not think much of this until I begun to hear a horrid sound. I was about a mile away from home so I parked in my garage and popped the hood. Strangely enough the power steering belt had fallen off. I called it a night.
Next day I put the belt back on and tried to go for a test drive. After I started the car I heard that the noise was still there. Now I was scared. What could be wrong?
I took off all the clutch stuff and found out that the bolts on the flywheel were loose. Like real loose. I was surprised and thankful that the problem was that simple. The dowel that serves as an extra bolt was also loose.
Now I am gonna do this for a second time so I wanna get it right. I used threadlock last time, my guess is that I either didn't use enough or used the wrong kind (I also Torquedthe bolts).
What kind of threadlock should I use and how much should I put on every bolt?? Oh and how do I get that dowel to stay in tighter??
