Not as easy as you guys say!! When I did it I ran into several problems. First I couldn't unscrew the rod from the tie end. I was finally able to do it by applying super strength with a 21mm and a 22mm wrench. You do this by using one wrench on the screw on the rod and the other on the tie end rod part.

Anyway if yours isn't totally rusted in there it might be easier. After that I had a jolly time putting on the boots. An important thing to remember that no one tells you is that there is a littel hole on the side of the boot. That hole goes into this pipe that is on the rack. If you don't match the pattern you will have a tought time.

Then use zip ties or something to keep the boots on there. Put in some grease on the ball joints and clean them off cause i think dirt gets in there.

I think it is more like a 1 hour job although my 83 900 needs more attention than a newer one!
