Because C900s have an unsynchronized reverse, it's "normal". We all have it happen at one time or another - especially when we don't want it to :-) But it's not good. You'll end up with chipped geat teeth, and bits of them going all sorts of places you don't want them to.
The thing to do is put it into another gear prior to shifting into reverse.
Of course, if that doesn't work, it's time to bleed the clutch hydraulics, replace/rebuild the clutch master & slave, and/or redo the whole clutch system.
