First I will say I am a former Saab tech as well as an owner of several old 900s.
Now I will say this:
Bought a convert on the east coast, didn't have working A.C.,Didn't want to drive to Minnesota without it, Stopped into PEP BOYS, Bought a $30.00 kit for converting the system[no o-rings,drier etc.] put in the mystery oil can and 2 cans of 134 per instructions and fired it up. 18 months later the compressor still works and is quiet.it leaks a pound every now and then but it is still alot cooler than rolling down the window.
I was looking for a temporary solution to a problem. I had many spare compressors etc. and I was prepared to have to pull it all apart but it is still working. This fall I will buy the new hoses and drier and do it again only because the hoses leak and the expansion valve is sticky but for the money I will do it the same way next time
