Near where I live, the intersection of Topanga Canyon Blvd and Ventura is popular as a weekend stop for the non-Harley Davidson motor cycle owners. It's always a sight to see some 200+ bikes buzz around. I can imagine if even 10 or more SAAB 900's were grouped together, hoods flipped forward, everyone trying to diagnose everyone elses technical problems... When Swedes attack indeed!
I don't think I'm anywhere near ready to showcase the 82 900T sedan I'm currently restoring. In a week I'm having the exterior repainted, so maybe I could at least drive by with pride.
Repair and mods since Dec 2000 to date:
replaced front bumper, radiator housing, rt headlight assembly and grill
fixed several oil leaks (oil cooler lines, turbo feed line)
dismantled, cleaned all engine/intake/turbo related components
replaced cracked exhaust manifold
restored vac and boost lines integrity
resoldered many frayed and loose wire connections
replaced intake manifold to install an egr valve
removed the stock 8v oil cooler and installed a 16v version
installed an '87 intercooler, complete with stock air dams and fittings
complete dash replacement (actually found one with no cracks!)
replaced all 4 badly abused stock alum wheels with unabused stock wheels
replaced the standard 85 mph speedometer with the 125 version
replaced the badly cracked gas tank filler assembly
replaced the hood (old one had beyond repair hinge assembly damage)
replaced front shocks
complete interior (seats, door panels, carpet) replacement
installed 6 guages (eng, ambient, IC temps, battery, boost/vac, oil pres.)
installed new front and rear speakers (50 watts each)
new muffler and tail pipe
next up:
paint job
CD/radio/equalizer/200 watt amp installation
AC compressor replacement
take a nice long road trip this summer. Yosemite maybe...
