I repalced the emblem on my wife's '85 900T. the way i did it was with a thin kitchen knife (NOT a steak, or serated knife) and a piece of junk mail. I prefer the knife as it gives you a little more surface area to pry with, and a little more control. A screwdiver is more prone to damage the hood or the emblem. the key is even pressure so as to not break off the two palstic prongs on the back. those are a HUGE pain in the ass to get out.
Place the junk mail (or cardbord; just something thin to act as a buffer between the knife and your hood) on the hood, and work the knife under the emblem. make sure you move your buffer wherever you move the knife. use paitience, and slowly work it out. it should pop out pretty easily. then just stick the new one in (again, even pressure)until it is flush with the hood.
good luck, it's a small but satisfying victory!
