Some smoke came out of the ashtray/cigarette lighter and my car died. Fuel pump, power windows, emergency blinkers all keep popping their fuses immediately upon replacement.
Something got fried where these wires are near each other, but I cant seem to locate them, I dont even know what color they all are.
All I know is that my friend was helping me fix my car and we were revving it quite a bit in my driveway for 30 minutes and apparently my catalytic convertor is dead so it superheated something under the dash and fried the wires, but I don't know where I'm supposed to look.
I have the steering wheel, dash board, instrument gauge, glove box, carpet, etc all removed. Still, I cannot see any wires in the area of the catalytic converter because the firewall seems to be in the way I guess. It seems like most of the wires are around the top of the dash in the middle, where the climate and radio controls are. Behind the dash board there is an obvious dropoff and empty space that runs down the length of the firewall to the floorboard (behind the dash, etc) but I cant see down there. I'm just wondering how much more I have to rip apart before I find the melted cables. If my words are failing me here, I can borrow a digital camera and take some pictures of the situation.
I just need to know where the fuel pump line runs exactly where it passes near the catalytic convertor, and the color of the cable would be nice :)
