Hi all,
88SPG, 140,000 miles.
Last night (1/2 hour after driving up some steep mountains in Utah) I'm sitting at a light when I notice in my side view mirror a bunch of dark smoke coming out of my exhaust. Car starts idling rough and almost stalls out (battery light comes on)before I give it some gas. As the light turns green, I accelerate away and feel the engine shuddering. Hardly any power, no boost (not even making it to the yellow even).
So, this morning I go out and look for anything obvious, nothing. Take the intercooler piping off to check turbo blades, looks fine. Look at the spark plugs condition, all looks good. Oil looks clean, antifreeze looks clean. No sign of broken/blown off hoses.
Take it for a test drive, drives normal. No smoke, boost like it should.
What is going on here?
Thanks for all input,
Confused
Has all new plugs, wires, O2sensor, fuel filter, bov, distributor cap, ignition wires, rotor.
