Angelo, I just relocated my after-market stereo to the lower slot. I can not agree with Adam D more. Here in Tucson the upper slot gets extremely hot. Please hit the (more from Ed S) button and look for 'random toughts...' about what I had to do to move the radio. Its not TOO big a deal and I feel is a good thing. The upper slot is a better place for your eyes to wonder to than the lower slot, etc.
My gauges will be oil temp, vac/boost, ???3rd
I plan on adding a A/F meter for the occasional use with a plug in the lower bin.
Good luck,
Ed S
