the key to crimping is a good crimper. i use a 10" channellock 909 nipper with crimper. not a "Calibrated" unit but high quality crimps and can cut romex / big harnesses with ease, trims washers etc...worth buying just for the crimper tho. 20$ or so. the flat stamped ones are worthless. you may consider a radio shack butane soldering unit. real hot, real small.
