Seat problems

I have a 92 900T Conv. The drivers side seat has two problems which may or may not be related.
1) When you pull up on the little handle the seat does not unlatch so that you can flip it forward. (To let people in the back) For now rear seat passengers have to get in on the passenger side.
2) The power seat-back tilt adjustment only operates on the left side of the seat. The right side of the seat back remains stationary. This means there is only one position at the moment where the seat back is actually flat. Move it forward beyond that point and I am starting to look towards the middle of the windshield.
I can live with problem 1 for now but problem 2 has to be fixed ASAP.
I would imagine the seat only uses one motor for adjusting the tilt so it would be understandable if one side was "driven" and the other side just went along but I don't think that's the case since the right side of the seat has no play in it. That makes me thing that both hinges must go down to a gearbox or something like that.
Has anybody had a similar problem? Any assistance would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Dave
