White smoke is water blue is oil as you already know. To check valve guides read through this info " The guides are checked while the valves are out. Raise the valve 3 mm off its seat to measure guide clearance. The spec is .5 mm. Move the valve side to side and use a dial indicator to measure the movement. Replace any valve guides with more clearance than this " you will have to get a workshop to refit new valve guides I think and you may have to get new valves and get them ground in not sure about this. If your valve guides are out then the rubber seals on top of the guides could of been damaged hence letting in oil, also i think it could be a good idea to get your chambers compresssion tested as this is not expensive to do and if you take it some where you trust ( who arn't going to lie just for more business I am so distrustful ) it could save you money in the long run and it will stop you being left stranded on the way to work you can drive a car for a little while with a small head gasket leak and then suddenly chug chug it just happened to me. At the very least this can put your mind at rest. I dont think you have a turbo so have ruled that out. Lee
