i have only owned my 91 900s (115k miles) for about 4 months now. the problem is stalling while driving. it started about 2 weeks after purchasing. i had a prepurchase check and the mechanic informed me that other than a faulty fuel pressure regulator, the car was good. i had the regulator replaced and as i was driving home from the shop, the car stalled and would not start. i tried for @1/2 hour before abandoning it and walking home. the next morning, i tried to start it again before the tow truck arrived, and it started. had it towed back to the shop anyway and they could find nothing wrong. drove it home next night and it stalled again, this time right as i pulled into my driveway and placed in park. again it would not start and i tried for about 1/2 hour and did not try again until the next morning. i returned to the shop next morning, they kept the car for 5 weeks and they had no problems. i picked it up, drove home no problems. about 3 weeks later, stalled again. i took it to different shop that specializes in Saabs only. no problems or fault codes with them. they gave me a few options and we decided to try a couple different things. so far, the ignition amplifier and the fuel pump relays have been changed, as well as a check on loose wires has been done. the car has since stalled again. i was told i do not have the distributor with the hall effect sensor.
any suggestions????? i have a very young child so i need something reliable and am now (after 6 stalls so far) starting to regret this purchase. i knew when i test drove it, i had to have it, i just didn't realize the problems for used vehicles (i have never owned a used vehicle until this)
