Crazy 900T No Start Posted by Justin VanAbrahams [Email] ![]() ![]() |
Hello!
I have exhausted all my possibilities and need help!
Here's the low-down:
Car is a 1980 900T 5-door. I've installed EVERYTHING from a 16vT SPG. Engine, tranny, steering, blah blah blah. I've converted the car to LH Jetronic 2.2 and installed Hall-Effect ignition - removing the CIS and old inductive ignition completely. APC has been installed, but is currently disabled.
Here's the deal: When the car is cold, it will start and run beautifully. If you run it for a few minutes, shut it down, and try to restart it won't - just cranks forever.
I've tested the entire LH harness and everything comes up clean. I've tested the coolant temp (NTC) sensor, and after running for a few minutes it reads between 500 and 700 ohms, putting engine temp between 86 deg F and 176 deg F, which sounds about right. I've verified the timing at 16 degrees BTDC. I can't think of anything else to check...
Anyone have any thoughts? I don't understand why a cold start works but a warm start does not... The only component involved in that is the NTC sensor, and it's doing fine... I *so* wanted this done a week ago! :)
