no offense, but I just cracked me up. I know that some of the 99's had a manual rack and possibly the 90's in europe. I do not think that you can just remove the pump and make it a manual rack. For one, I am pretty sure that the ratio was a bit shorter (more turns lock to lock) in the manual. With wide radial tires, the 900 rack without power assist would provide an opportunity for a workout while driving, though. Your friends will start calling you 'Popeye' after a while. good luck.
