This is a 10 minute job excluding bleeding the brakes and assuming you got a m/c with a reservoir attached (I've had no luck attaching the old reservoir...it usually breaks) and don't round off the brake line nuts.
Use flare nut wrenches on the brake line nuts. Only two nuts to take off the m/c.
The key is bench bleeding the m/c....once the m/c is installed (don't hook up the two brake lines to the m/c) fill up the m/c reservoir, put two fingers on the brake line holes, and then work the brake pedal to bleed the air out of the m/c...brake fluid will squirt past your fingers...don't worry, you can't hold it! Then quickly attach the brake lines and tighten them, then go around the car at the wheels and bleed the lines. I've done this one by one, but usually you can jack up an entire side of the car with one jack app at the front jack point.
