If you have the dash control for heated seats:
There is a temperature sensor in the seat. If the temp sensor reads cooler than the setting on the dash control, a relay in the control closes, and it puts 12 volts to the heating element in the seat. When the seat warms up to the set point on the dash control, the relay opens up, and there is no power to the heating element. When the seat temp drops a few degrees below the set point, the relay closes, and the cycle continues.
The higher the setting on the dash switch, the longer the relay stays closed. But if the sensor in the seat sees a temperature higher than what the dash controller says, then the seat won't get any warmer.
Sound reasonable?
