he did not evacuate the low amount of freon that was in the system. Just added until it was full.... which was a little over 1lb..so presumably there was a little over 1lb of Freeze 12 and about 1lb of R-12 when he was done with it.
You are absolutely correct to say that it should be evacuated and filled with 2.2lb per spec. This is what I will have done at a reputable shop.
It never ceases to amaze me how dishonest the car repair business is. It seems like someone could make good money as an honest mechanic. This is knowledge that most people don't have, and work that most people don't care to do... why the need for dishonesty and ripping people off? Maybe just the temptation of more profit? Any ideas?
Nice to "meet" a true swede on this BB.... I hope one day to visit the land of my ancestry... actually, my family were Danes, but probably way back from Sweden.
