Sporadic problem - please help!

I am a proud owner of a 1990 900s.
Within a month or so of buying the car (18 months ago) it became plagued by sudden loss of power. This seemed to happen at random times (ie hot or cold - startor during a journey) but generally when trying to speed up in lower gears. It would feel as though the car was running only 3 cylinders as the power would be very jerky on/off/onn/off in very quick succession - is this miss-timimg? The problem was sporadic and occurred seldom but when it did occur it was very embarrassing and dangerous ie when turning across traffic. After a month or so I took it to the local saab specialist to be serviced and mentioned this problem. After a thorough check the problem was diagnosed as dirty injectors which were duely high pressure cleaned ( at a cost of £70). The problem seemed to have been rectified.
18 months and a service (including cylinder head gasket replacement) later the problem seems to have reappeared. They are exactly the same symptoms. At the last service injector tonic was added - but this doesn't seem to have helped matters.
If I had not experienced this fault before I would have thought it was water in the petrol or something like that.
Is it an easy job to try to clean the injectors myself or could it be something else like a sticking throttle valve?
Please help!
Thanks
Mark
