We (my small handed, long arm son and I) taped the hose to the plastic connector tube and got it mated, but not fully seated, to the female piece on the dash vent (there were no 'staples' or holes so that may have been a production line enhancement on later versions of the car - mine is an early 1987!). As this past weekend was really nice I didn't try to find the violet wire to the switch - we went driving! I need a rainy day when I don't want to be driving the convertible to work on it. I went back to the Tom Townsend's site and did a deeper search and found the sequence of the coloured wires relative to the switch contact positions so I'm all set (I hope!). Since everything on this car (except the alarm) works as advertised I expect my fan switch problem will be a simple fix (dirty contact or unattached wire). Cheers!
