Am I right in guessing that these ignition systems effectively advance and retard the timing in a far more efficient and effective manner? I've recently read on the performance BB about physically modifying the AID unit to increase retard (to avoid knock under boost). When using one of these ignition systems, is the AID bypassed/removed?
