One night about a week ago, my 87 900T took about 20 tries to start. It worked for a mile, then stalled out. After about 20 minutes of trying to start it again, it finally started with the AMM unplugged. It acted as if it had a blown head-gasket... very smoky and NO power. The problem actually went away, however over the past week. But tonight I was driving around town and I noticed the idle spiked to 1100. This is what it did last week, so I parked it... same symptoms! Almost impossible to start (unless you unplug the AMM and floor the gas pedal)... and the engine nearly dies when you try to accelerate.

I have researched the board, and I think it's either the fuel pump or the ecu. I have a few AMM's sitting around, and the one I'm using this week is different from last week. I also have an '85 parts car, so I can experiment. Do any of these symptons sound familiar to anyone??
