it is always best to take it the short block and re-seal etc if engine is out. so much easier and cheaper then. if it happens again you will have to o-ring the block because it will mean the block has enough out of square to allow under gasket seepage at high boost which is the starting point for full failure. glad to hear you got off light. a good block rebuild is expensive.
