A couple of weeks back I posted a message regarding low boost problems. I wanted to thank everyone for the assitance that they provided, especially to Ari for his time and thoroughness in his posts. I had tested everything, cruise was fine, APC solenoid was fine, all hoses were ok. Only thing I didn't check was the pressure transducer. The one thing that I thought was key was the voltage readings I was getting at the APC solenoid. In the hope of assisting others, I will repeat what I can remember from my previous post. The readings were as follows, and by the way, all grounds checked okay:
ignition on = between 6 and 7 volts
driving the car = betwen 6 and 7 volts
brakes on = 10 volts
cruise on = 0 volts
The only thing I could think of at this point was that it was the APC box. True enough, I got a replacement, thank you to Viking Saab and now, everything is great. Soooo... just one more thing to possibly take into account when diagnosing APC problems. I hope this helps anyone out there stuck in base boost limbo.
