Ok- So when the car is hot and I short the thermo switch, the fan works. According to Bently, that means I need a new Thermo Switch. So I am going to get that. But shorting the switch should work even when the engine is cool. So I was doing the test on the coolent temperature sender, located below the distributer. I unhooked the wire, and grounded it, with the ignition on, this shot the gauge way up past the red, Bently sais if the gauge goes up, you need a new Coolant Temperature Sender... So I will get that to, but would the faulty Coolant Temperature Sender have anything to do with why I can't short the Thermo Switch when the engine is cold? Also, what role would that 87 degree thermo switch play in this, I can't find the stamp on the side telling me the temp, but I am realy confused as to why I can't short it when cold! All the electrical connections work, and are live! Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Is there anything else that could be wrong that I am simply overlooking?
Thanks! Dan
