On my 1986 SPG with Yakima roofrack, I have made small parades...
When painting, had a 32' ladder & 28' ladder, 2-24' ladders all at once about once a week while driving thru small Kansas towns, I swear I have never received so many stares of disbelief.
three weeks ago, loaded 8 - 4'x8' sheets of plywood, ten 10' sections of flashing and other roofing materials to the roof. Several pickup truck owners gave me dirty looks as I use my car harder than they ever use their "trucks" (side note, this cost me a broken motor mount:(
Went to Moab, Colorado, Washington, Arizona etc etc w/ 3 bikes and a yakima aero container on roof with weeks of camping supplies and three people in car. flew up and over mountain passes with the greatest of ease while running 24 + mpg.
Beds, tables, a sofa once, even a recliner.
Best damn car ever EVER built.
Jason
