No Start, yellow sparks ...

92 900base 123k. Starter cranks robustly, but that's as far as she goes. As instructed on this bb, I pulled the wire going into the distributor cap, and yes it produced sparks, but of the yellow/orange variety. Do the same rules about spark color at the spark plugs apply at this wire? If so, then I should suspect the ignition coil, right? I had the hood painted the day before this problem occurred, and it did rain one of the 2 days the painters had it. (They assured me they put it indoors.) The car started fine when I picked it up, but I wonder if it took 24 hours for some moisture to mess something up. Thanks for any advice, opinions. Regard, JWR.
