Depends where the leak is. Perhaps all it needs is a retightening onto the cylinder head. Maybe it only has the heat shield as a gasket, which is prone to cracking. Could be the donut washer between the ex manifold and down pipe. Could be one of the turbo components. If there is a crack, you should be able to see and or feel it (a jet of air) when you first start. As far as driving, unless it's a huge crack or hole, you can get by with driving for a while, so long as cabin ventilation is adequate. Replacing an exhaust manifold on a 900T 8V is not fun. It's a matter of lifting the right side of your engine up (with hydraulic jack) so the manifold can clear the engine bracket near the p.s. pump. That pump also has to be pulled from it's housing and set aside. The battery has to be removed as well. And then there's detaching the manifold from the turbo. All in all a real bear of a chore.
