Lots of stuff to consider:
For a straight bolt on, the 2.1 and I guess some of the 2.3 heads should flow better. SD claims that the 2.0 head will out flow the 2.1's if properly p&p'ed.
'85 heads have symetrical intake ports and uses different lifts for the intake valves for each cylinder, 2mm difference, this creates a swirl effect that should inprove combustion at low engine speeds. Later heads have assymetrical intake ports which create the same effect, some say this is a bad design.
Any later head with assymetrical ports will lower the CR on your '85 turbo a small amount because the combustion chamber volume is larger. The '85 head on an N/A engine will raise the CR a small amount.
I wouldn't reccomend using the '85 intake cam on a head with assymetrical ports. The '85 exhaust cam may be a good choice, duration is the longest of any stock turbo cam, but you'd need to figure lobe center and compare that with the intake cam data to come up with overlap. I've worked all this data out, but can't find it right now. I also haven't found anyone that can give me any real info about what works best on a turbo engine, but one thing is for sure, there shoudn't be much overlap. From the little I've figured out on my own, there is a good combination of stock cams available, but they all lack in lift. I'd like to see the numbers from the guy's with aftermarket cams, just to compare.
