The rotor is just held on with a bolt, so as long as it comes out easily, you'll have no problem. No messing about with bearings or the like.
There is a trick for your year car. Actually, for all 900 87 and earlier. Taking the pads out is just as easy as the rears - pop them out. The trick is getting the piston back in to give enough clearance for the new (fatter) pads. You can't just stick a C-clamp or pliers on and push the piston back. You have to rotate the face of the piston - screw it in (clockwise). There are small holes on the face of the piston. You can either build or buy a tool. I have built a tool - it is just a length of aluminum strip, maybe 1/2 inch wide, 4 inches long, with two holes in it. I stick two 6-32 screws thru the holes, and hold them in place with nuts. The ends of the screws slip into the holes in the face of the piston, and by turning the bar, you turn the piston and screw it in.
Other folks have used chainring removing tools from a bicycle - the tool is just a V shape of wire, and the ends bend down to pick up the holes.
Screw the piston in until the face is about flush with the face of the piston. Slip in the new pads, and off you go. It helps to grease the sliding parts of the yoke with some high temperature grease.
good luck!
