My beloved Saab 900i saved my life yesterday. I was going on a straight road, minding my own business, when a Hyundai Xcel came out of the side rd without stopping at the stop line at 80kmh and rammed into my driver door.
My car was pushed almost off the road, and I was sitting stunned in the car for a few minutes before I tried to open my driver door. The door had "caved" in, and is jammed. When I climbed out of the car and inspected the damage, I was shocked. My car only had 2 damaged doors, damaged front panel, sadly a bent side pillar and still very drivable. The Hyundai suffered unrepairable damage with almost half the engine gone. (100% wreck)
After sending to the smash repairs, I found out that my 900i is beyond economical repair. The bent side pillar is almost irrepairable. Lousy Idea that I have to wreck it.. I really love the car. Worst thing is, the other driver is driving without third party property insurance. Argghhhhh!!!!!
My insurance company refused to pay for the repairs as they felt that it's ineconomical. I really have to wreck it..=( Will be sending my car for it's final drive to the wrecker next week...
Lesson learnt here is that Saab cars are worth the $$ cos it saved my life. Will be getting another Saab soon.. mabbe a 9000... =)
