I have a 1987 900 turbo automatic, I have a hesetation between 2500 and 3500 rpms no matter what gear I am in. I also have an intermittant miss when it is cold. When it misses, I can smell raw fuel from the exhaust. I have already replaced the plugs, wires, distributor (with cap and rotor), coil, and turbo bypass valve. The timing is right on the money and the idle is set fine. When i am driving, and I floor it, when it gets between 25 and 3500 rpms, it seems to just have a bad hesetation, especially when I am going up a hill. The weird thing is that when i start to let off the gas, I can feel the power pick up a little. Another problem I am having, which might be related, is the boost is only about half of what it should be. I have been running straight 94 octane gas and synthetic oil from the start when i bought the car back in November. I use the same stuff in my '86 900t w/5spd and it works fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I don't know how long I can pull my hair out until it won't grow back.
Thank you.
